Gregory
“Buzz” Baker Named Finalist for 2005 Entrepreneur of the
Year Award
HOUSTON
(June 20, 2005) – Network Funding is pleased to announce
that their President, Gregory “Buzz” Baker was named a
finalist for the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the
Year Award presented by the Ewing Marion Kauffman
Foundation.
Baker will be honored during a gala
awards dinner on June 23 in Houston as part of the 2005
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. During
the awards presentation, Baker will be featured in a
video presentation that outlines his vision, leadership
and origin of his business.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is
presented to an individual who has created a successful
business, shown respect to its employees and impacted
the community.
“I am very honored to be recognized by
such prestigious organizations like Ernst & Young and
the Kauffman Foundation,” said Buzz Baker, President of
Network Funding. “I’m proud to have been named one of
the finalists for the 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year
Award.”
Baker has served as President since he
co-founded Network Funding in 1998. With more than 20
years experience in the Mortgage industry, he has
expanded Network Funding into one of the fastest growing
mortgage companies in the nation, employing over 500
originators in 38 states.
Previously, Baker served as a loan
officer and then a producing manager for North American
Mortgage Company. He has also served as the production
manager and wholesale manager for Irwin Mortgage
Corporation. Baker holds a degree in Finance from
Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches,
Texas.
